FantasyLite

5 Person Fantasy Football, Odd Number and All

Five is the number that breaks traditional fantasy. Head-to-head scheduling needs an even count, so somebody sits out every week or plays a ghost, and the player pool is so deep that every team is a Pro Bowl roster. Yet five is exactly how friend groups actually come: the roommates plus one, a family of five, the lunch table at work. FantasyLite has no matchups to schedule, so an odd number is not a problem at all.

Why five works when there are no matchups

Each person drafts four NFL teams, one from each of four tiers balanced by preseason win projections. That is 20 of the 32 franchises claimed, which makes the draft tight: tier one only has eight teams, so three people are getting a contender and two are getting the best of the rest. Your weekly score is the real points your four teams score in their real games, and the season is a five-way total points race across 18 weeks. Nobody sits out, nobody plays a bye-week phantom matchup, and the standings table settles everything.

The Phantom makes it six

Toggle the Phantom on and our AI rival takes the sixth slot, drafting four teams from what is left. Outscore it in any week and you earn a +10 bonus. In a five person league that bonus matters a lot: the standings are close enough that a couple of Phantom wins can move you from fourth to second.

Drafting with five people

Random Draft assigns everyone four teams instantly, one per tier. Draft Party lets the commissioner record each pick live while the group makes them around a table or on a call. Five people, four rounds, about twenty minutes including arguments. The printable draft sheet keeps the board visible, and the draft order wheel picks who goes first without a coin.

Free for all five

Creating the league is free and everyone joins free with an invite code. Free leagues hold up to six slots, so five people plus the Phantom is exactly a full free league. If a sixth person wants in, a 6 person league works too, and if someone drops out, a 4 person league is just as good.
