6 Person Fantasy Football Without the Homework
Six people is the sweet spot for a lot of groups: the friend circle that has stuck together since college, two families, a small office. Most fantasy apps will let you run six, but they were designed for twelve, so rosters are absurdly stacked and half the league stops setting lineups by Week 6. FantasyLite is built around the thing that actually makes fantasy fun, rooting for your teams every Sunday, and skips everything that turns it into a chore.
How a 6 person league works here
Everyone drafts four NFL teams, one from each of four tiers balanced by preseason win projections. Six people claim 24 of the 32 franchises, which means the draft is genuinely competitive: tier one is gone by the end of the first round, and the tier four picks decide the season more often than you would think. Your weekly score is the real points your four teams score, the season is a six-way points race across 18 weeks, and there is nothing to set, drop, or trade in between.
The Phantom as a seventh
The Phantom is our AI rival that drafts four teams from the leftovers and gives everyone a +10 bonus any week they outscore it. With six people you have a choice. Run six humans with the Phantom off and the league is free. Want the Phantom in as a seventh slot? That is a Pro league, since free leagues hold up to six slots. Pro is $9.99 a year for the commissioner only, everyone else still plays free, and it also unlocks 8 slot leagues, more than one league a season, and in-app draft scheduling.
Drafting with six people
Random Draft hands out four teams each instantly. Draft Party is where six really shines: get everyone in a room or on a call, put the printable draft sheet on the table, spin the draft order wheel for pick order, and let the commissioner record each pick in the app as the group makes it. Six people, four rounds, about half an hour with the trash talk included.
Six is not the ceiling
Leagues hold up to 8 with Pro, so if the group grows, nobody gets left out. And if it shrinks, a 5 person league or a 4 person league plays exactly the same way. Read more about fantasy football with friends to see how invites and scoring work.
