Most "free" fantasy apps pay for themselves with ads between every screen, coin packs, or a pitch to bet on the games you are watching. FantasyLite has none of that. Creating a league is free. How to start a free fantasy football league in one minute

1. Download FantasyLite and sign in with Apple or Google.
2. Tap Create a league, name it, and pick a size from 2 to 6.
3. Choose Random Draft (instant) or Draft Party (in person).
4. Drop the six character invite code in your group chat.
5. Draft four NFL teams each, one from each tier, and you are done for the season.

That is the entire setup. No scoring settings to argue about, no roster sizes to decide, no lineups to set later. Everyone drafts four whole NFL teams and the real points those teams score each week are your points. The full rules fit in the beginner's guide.

So what costs money?

FantasyLite Pro is an optional $9.99 a year upgrade for commissioners who want more than the free league offers: leagues of 7 or 8 players, running more than one league at a time, and setting a draft date and notes in the app with reminders for the whole league. Only the commissioner ever pays, and only if they want those perks. Everyone else plays free no matter what. There are no ads, no coins, and no mid-season upsells.

Why free works for us

Fantasy football is better with more people in it. Every free league is a group of friends who now have a reason to text each other every Sunday from September to January. Some of those groups grow past six, or the commissioner starts a second league for the family, and that is where Pro comes in. We would rather earn it that way than by charging you at the door. It works for office pools, family leagues, and even a league of two.

Is FantasyLite really free, or free with a catch?

Really free. Joining, playing, scoring, standings, the Phantom, and Solo vs Phantom cost nothing, and there are no ads or coins. The only paid thing in the app is the optional Pro upgrade for commissioners who want leagues bigger than six, more than one league, or in-app draft scheduling.

Can I join a free fantasy football league without paying?

Yes. Ask the commissioner for the invite code, sign in with Apple or Google, paste the code, and you are in. You can join as many leagues as you are invited to, all free.

Is it a free fantasy football game with prizes or money?

No. There are no cash prizes, entry fees, or contests here, which is also why there is no age check. It is a no money fantasy football league by design: the title and bragging rights are the prize.

How many people can a free league have?

Up to six slots, and the Phantom counts as one if you turn it on. That covers a 2 person, 3 person, 4 person, or 5 person league with the Phantom, or 6 people without it. Seven and eight are Pro.
